Small Business Jobs and Credit Act
- Gelberg Signs Visit (August 2010)
During a visit to the family-owned Gelberg Signs in Washington, D.C., President Obama called on Congress to pass the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act. Passed by the House in June of this year, the Act would establish a public/private partnership fund that would allow for investment in small businesses that create new jobs. The bill is currently meeting GOP opposition in the Senate and is expected to be further debated into September. The folks over at Presidential Watch Company will be watching this one closely and appreciate that President Obama has continued to wear his Jorg Gray 6500 Chronograph while supporting the bill.

President Obama Signs Freedom of Press Act
Earlier today, President Obama signed the Daniel Pearl Freedom of Information Act. The act, which was named in honor of the Wall Street Journal reporter who was captured and murdered by extremists, directs the State Department to expand its examination of press freedoms worldwide. In attendance for the signing were Mr. Pearl’s widow Mariane Pearl and son Adam Daniel Pearl. We’re proud that President Obama continues to support worldwide press freedoms and choose to wear his Jorg Gray 6500 to this event.
President Obama’s Supreme Court Pick
President Obama today nominated Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court. If nominated, Kagan would be the youngest member of the Court and the third women serving currently, which would represent the highest number of female justices ever. The sharp eyed folks at Presidential Watch Company noticed that President Obama choose to wear his Jorg Gray 6500 Series Chronograph for the nomination, marking yet another major historical event for which Jorg Gray was the President’s timepiece of choice.
